ROBIN BROWN
Stockmanship is an essential part of me and the way I train, because of my upbringing on cattle ranches. Everything in my training is simple. Pressure and release is the key to success. I feel Like I have been a pioneer and trail blazer for the upcoming generations of female dog trainers, who I know can excel with their dogs at higher levels and raise the bar like I have done. I am very blessed and feel so fortunate do to what I have done for the past 35 years. My biggest accomplishments are 3x National Open Champion titles and Nursey and Nevada’s Best Cow dog series Champion for 4 consecutive years,
Art of The Cowgirl Master Cow Dog Trainer, and 2024 World Stock Dog Reserve Champion with Burndale Ben in Calgary, Alberta Canada. It is also the hundreds of dogs I have placed in the ranchers’ hands across the U.S Canada and overseas. I have memories I will never forget, friends I would have never met, and dogs that have helped make me a better trainer. I thank The Lord every day and have gratitude that is ever present.
DAVID HENDERSON
Born and raised on the family farm in the Pennine Hills in the north of England, David was involved with sheep from the time he could walk. Border collies were an integral part of the everyday sheep work and remain so to this day. In his young adult years, he left home to shepherd in the Scottish Borders, where I had the experience of handling even larger flocks. This required me to keep and train more dogs to do the work efficiently. Later he became interested in trialing, which has been very enjoyable and rewarding. David has had the great honor of representing England at the International Sheepdog Championships on multiple occasions and twice at the World Trial. “The knowledge I gained from some of the best sheepdog handlers in Scotland has been invaluable. Ten years ago, came the chance to return home to the family farm and concentrate on breeding, training, and selling my own line of border collies, under the Burndale prefix. I have had the great pleasure of seeing my dogs go on to perform well in many countries around the world. I am deeply grateful for the wonderful opportunities and friendships I have gained through my love for border collies.”
David is an amazing trainer/ Handler. I am so fortunate to have him here as one of my instructors this year. He has a very natural talent with dogs His background is working dogs for a purpose on his sheep farm, which produces great thinking dogs. I have 3 dogs on my ranch from Davids Kennel and they are outstanding working dogs, very competitive in performance trialing cattle and sheep both.
KAELENE FORSYTH

DEREK WESTOVER
Derek Westover finds value in dogs to promote stockmanship and stewardship. His breed of choice is the versatile border collie. These dogs are valuable to his targeted grazing operation, Top Goat, and they also excel in the trialing world. Derek competes in arena trials and big field trials. He holds three national champion titles. Derek lives in Homedale, Idaho and is the owner of Sunrise Stockdogs & Livestock. Derek and his family enjoy the simple way of life that dogs and horses promote.
Growing up on his grandfathers cow/calf operation, they never had good dogs. The grandkids had to be the dogs. Derek is thankful for this time in his life – it taught him how to handle and move the cattle efficiently and minimize stress. Now he enjoys helping people learn to be better stockmen with the use of border collies.
Derek will be working on obstacles and making points and time trials fun and SUCCESSFUL! Do not let speed trials scare you, these trials are super fun and very competitive and very spectator friendly. He’s had a lot of success in arena trials in the NCA and MSSA. The MSSA is growing and quickly becoming the association of choice for many dog handlers. The association offers sheep and cattle trials in arena and big field settings.
